Free checks
We read the public pages or DNS records of the address you enter, show you the result and do not store it. Our logs keep a short one-way hash of the address and the overall result, for counting. Your connection's address is held in memory for up to an hour to limit abuse.
Alerts
If you ask for alerts, we store your email address, the site or domain you are watching, the latest check result and a record of alerts sent. We use these only to send your alerts, because you asked us to provide this service. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted within a week. Stopping alerts, using the link in any email, deletes the alert and your address straight away. We use a hosting provider and an email provider to run this. You can ask us for a copy of your data, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Terms
The checks and alerts are provided as they are. We try to be reliable, but we do not promise to catch every change or to send every alert in time, so please do not rely on Tripline as your only safeguard. The advice is general, and we are not responsible for changes you make to your site or DNS because of it. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for lost traffic, lost mail or lost business. Please do not use this service to probe sites in a way that causes them harm.
